Bribie Island State High School is a co-educational secondary school located on an Island with a population of approximately 18,500, situated 100 kilometres north of Queensland's capital city. The school opened its doors to its first student intake on January 23, 1989 with 300 students. We now have a school population of over 1,100 students and 100 employees.

Bribie Island State High School enjoys a strong reputation for quality education. We seek to provide a rewarding and engaging education for all students. The schools' vision is to be a leader in secondary education, through the provision of the best value education for Island families, responsive to their needs and aspirations. We have close working relationships with the two primary schools on the island, Bribie Island State School and Banksia Beach State School, including secondary transition programs.

Our school is far more than a provider of an academically rigorous education. We think about our students as young men and women; we care for them and about them, and we have high expectations of them – and ourselves. As educators we are constantly searching for new ideas, and the latest research to inform what we provide to our students and how we deliver it. We work hard to prepare every student to 'challenge the future' through inspiration, innovation and developing resilience.

The Bribie Island State High School community takes pride in the fact that students are given every opportunity to achieve or exceed their potential academically, culturally, in the sporting arena and socially. The school offers a breadth of curriculum to cater for a large number of students targeted at both tertiary and vocational pathways.
