Bribie Island is the smallest and most northerly of 3 major islands forming the coastline sheltering the northern part of Moreton Bay, Queensland. Bribie is 34 kilometres long and 8 kilometre at its widest. Bribie Island hugs the coastline and tapers to a long spit at its most northern point near Caloundra and is separated from the mainland by Pumice stone Passage. In January 2022, the ocean broke through the narrow spit of the island 2km from the northern tip, this event created a new passage metres wide.
Bribie Island is a quiet, quaint, community focused island that has a different outlook on life. Visiting Bribie, you get a sense of a calm and relaxed atmosphere that you can't find anywhere else in Brisbane. With surf beaches to the west and protected calm waters to the east, the island attracts everyone from nature lovers to boaters to foodies, to lovers of fishing and camping.
Our international students get to enjoy all that Bribie has to offer - from boating to surfing, to kayaking to endless walks along the peaceful beach.
